JOSEPH D. DAL MOLIN, B.E.S, M.A.

As founder of e-cology, Joseph has woven together his extensive international experience as a strategist, innovator and marketing executive in the telecommunications, health care and information technology sectors with his background as an ecologist and environmental planner to create an innovative foundation for e-cology's products and services.

Joseph's corporate experience includes: Vice President of Business Development at the Stentor Innovation Centre, a unique business incubator, joint venture of Canada's major telecommunication companies, co-founder of Minoru Development Corp. an open source software developer; and National Manager of Sales and Marketing for Digital Equipment of Canada's health care business unit. Joseph's public sector experience includes managing IT strategic planning for the province of Alberta's Department of Environment, Canada Post Corporation and the Workers' Compensation Board of Ontario.

Joseph is a recognized expert in open source and information technology strategy and is frequently invited to speak on the subject. His speaking engagements include events sponsored by the Digital Nations Consortium, Kennedy School of Government, American Association of Medical Colleges, OECD Working Party on the Information Economy, and George Washington University's Open Source e-Government Center.

Joseph is an active contributor to volunteer professional organizations. In 1999 he initiated and co-founded the Open Source Health Care Alliance OSHCA. OSHCA (www.oshca.org) is an international association dedicated to furthering the understanding of the value applying open, collaborative software development models in health care. OSHCA conferences have been sponsored by the UN FAO/IAEA Joint Program, UK National Health Service, and the UCLA Medical Center/School of Medicine. Joseph is a member of the board of directors of WorldVistA, a not for profit established to coordinate the development and dissemination of the open source version of VistA (www.worldvista.org), the US Veterans Administration's integrated Electronic Health Record system.
